Strategic Initiative Four

Create additional and novel public/private educational partnerships to better serve the citizens of Missouri, the nation, and world.

  • Develop and begin implementing by February 2005 a plan to forge new local partnerships, regional networks, and national and international alliances to share both intellectual and fiscal resources in teaching, research and service in order to address educational, economic, health, and social issues. (SPRAC/Provost)
  • MU will develop by February 2005 a plan for research and education programs that will provide continuing education support for all three branches of Missouri government, targeting specific governmental agencies responsible for major public policy initiatives. MU will expand its public policy education through the Truman School of Public Affairs, its Institute for Public Service and Cooperative Extension. These entities will develop a coordinated educational plan that includes workshops for elected officials at the state and local levels of government and for specific state agencies. The Institute for Public Service will coordinate across all divisions of the University. (Chancellor)
